Don’t be a Negative Nelly

I had someone comment in one of my groups and she called herself a “fat girl.” I know playful, harmless comments, right?

Wrong.

Gosh. I can’t tell you how much this bothers me. Like more than I can even explain.

Why? Because the more you repeat that to yourself, the more you are going to believe it. It’s just that negativity slowly creeping in, except you are the one creating it. Then, once you believe it, you start to fall into habits that will make it a reality.

With as much negativity as there is in this world, why create more yourself? If you are overweight and you aren’t happy with the way you look, find something you do like about yourself. Be the “funny girl,” the “girl with the beautiful blue eyes,” the “successful girl,” the “smart girl.” Flaunt your positives and find a way to work on the negatives. Slowly, but surely, you will start to see the changes.

Focus on the positives. Push out the negatives.

And for the love of all things holy, we have to stop saying these things about each other, ladies. Seriously. Stop with the “fat,” “bitch,” “whore” stuff already. There are enough things dragging women down without us doing it to ourselves.

Just respect yourself and don’t convince yourself that you are less than you are. Because you are AMAZING.
