One of my all time favorite things is banana nut bread. My gram used to make it when I was little and would always make a loaf without nuts just for me (I was weird in my younger days and didn’t like the nuts). This breakfast is a fantastic way to incorporate that love and not fall off the wagon completely. After all, breakfast is the most important meal of the day and oatmeal has so many health benefits!!! Clean Eating Crockpot Banana Nut Oatmeal
1 cup steel cut oats
2 cups almond milk
2 cups water
1 tbsp chia seeds
1 tbsp flax seed
1/4 cup nuts (walnuts, pecans, sliced almonds, you choose!)
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 ripe, mashed banana
1 tsp vanilla
Place crockpot liner in crockpot (I just recently started using these and swear by them now!). Mix all ingredients together and place in crockpot. Cook on low for 4-5 hours. Eat warm and top with banana slices if you would like!
Wanna give it a real boost? Take 1/2 cup of almond milk and 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder, mix together and pour on top! Mmmmmm… Protein…
