Final Update: Half 30

I wrapped up the 30th day of my little Half30 a little over a week ago. I will say this – toward the end, I was definitely not as strict as I could have been. I avoided grains and dairy as much as possible. When I did have it, it was in a very limited quantity. I guess the plan just lost its appeal after the little “bashing” occurred.

What I have learned is that my body definitely prefers less gluten and dairy. I am going to continue to try to limit it whenever possible. I actually really enjoy a lot of the gluten-free products out there and don’t notice much of a difference in taste. The only two things I really eat in the dairy category are coffee creamer and cheese, which has been limited for a while anyway. Sugar is a given. I mean, we all know that shouldn’t be consumed in large amounts. I am usually pretty good with that.

As for the legumes, I never really ate a ton of beans to begin with. However, peanut butter is back in my life. And I couldn’t be happier. A life without peanut butter is no life at all.

So that leave alcohol… Well, you all know I love me a good cocktail. But honestly, I have cut back drastically. I only have one or two most weekends, if at all. Last weekend was another story… But for the most part, I may have a glass or maybe two of wine and that’s it.

There weren’t major results to report. I had a loss of about 2 pounds. I also had a 1″ loss in my waist. Not much, but I will take any loss I can get!

So what’s next? Well, I am kind of on a roll right now. I had a stomach bug all last week and am still recovering. I’ve lost 5 pounds with it… Not exactly the right way to lose it, but I am determined to keep it off. I am sticking with a healthy 21 Day Fix portion control plan for this week. Starting on Sunday, I am going to do the Countdown to Competition plan from the 21 Day Fix Extreme. I will have exactly 21 Days until we leave for Punta Cana and I will reach my goal before then! Only 4 pounds to go! Interested in joining me? Shoot me an email at nicole@popefitness.com and let me know. I would be happy to have a partner!
