Guys. Seriously, this is the easiest way to cook salmon ever. And with the Lenten season upon us, I had to make sure I shared it right away! I have made it 3 times so far and each time it has been just as delicious as the first. I think I have finally found the real key to cooking salmon to perfection at home without a culinary degree… the AIR FRYER!!!!
So many people have been shocked when I tell them that I love it cooked with the air fryer. Most people think of the usual – fries, wings, etc. The normal fried stuff. But honestly, I have been playing around with ideas and it is quite fun to experiment and see what turns out and what doesn’t. But what isn’t good fried?
I had the idea to try out salmon one day. It was literally so easy and cooked to perfection the very first time I tried it. Must have been fate! So here it is, without further delay!
Easiest Air Fryer Salmon Ever
Salmon Filet (you can really go as large as you want here, but it is best if it fits flat in your air fryer)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Lemon Pepper seasoning
{Yes, really. That’s it!}
Place your salmon skin down in the air fryer. Drizzle olive oil on top and spread around so the whole filet has oil on it. Sprinkle lemon pepper on top. You can season as heavily as you like, but I suggest going lighter on it at first until you know how it will taste.
Set heat to 400. Set timer to 10 minutes for medium rare or 12 minutes for medium to well. The thickness of the filet also matters here. If you have a thin cut, then you will want to cook for a bit less time. Mine was about an inch to an inch and a quarter thick and I cooked it for 12 minutes.
When it is finished cooking, you can pull it out and put it on a plate. Once it cools a bit, you can very easily take the skin off and discard. Serve over rice and veggies or any other side your little heart desires!
